The experience of unwrapping a cube of butter is as relaxing and anticipatory for me as pouring a glass of wine might be for someone else. Assembling measuring spoons and cups, scales, palette knives and all the ingredients for the cake I’m making serves to transport me into a calm and orderly world.
Self taught, with many years of experience in bakeries of all sorts, I now have a licensed kitchen under the Washington State Cottage Industries program which allows me to make cakes at my own home.
The name Seashell Cakes comes from my interest in things from the sea. My goal is to make each one of my cakes evoke as much pleasure as finding a shell on the beach.
